Catia Chien is a Brazilian-Taiwanese painter and picture book artist.  She works out of her art studio in NYC. Her first book, The Sea Serpent and Me, written by Dashka Slater (HMH), won a gold medal from the Society of Illustrators. She followed it with A Boy and a Jaguar by Alan Rabinowitz (HMH), an ALA Notable Book and recipient of the Schneider Family Book Award. She also illustrated four animated children’s e-books with Ogilvy & Mather called Poems from the Womb.  Her latest title, Things to Do by Elaine Magliaro (Chronicle), was released in February 2017. Catia also works in visual development for animated feature films, and she has shown in galleries all over the world including Brazil, Japan, China and Italy. Connect with Catia via: Instagram
